Taking One's Self Too Seriously, etc.

My first real blog entry is about people who have blogs. In my limited experience with them there are two types of bloggers.

1) People who take themselves way too seriously and want everyone to know just how horrible/wonderful their life is. The write long, wordy blog posts that tell everyone how important the writer is. My disclaimer is written specifically to warn people that this is not one of those blogs. In the words of a friend of mine who will remain nameless, blogs like these are the reason that diaries have locks on them.

2) People who want you to know every last breath they take. They can't eat a donut, fill their car up with gas, or take a shit without writing about it. These are much less irritating than the first to me. People who love and care about you probably want to know what is going on in your life... If there is too much information, they can just close their browser. At least they have the option to find out something about you if they choose.

Both of the above types of blogs have their purpose. The page you have reached shall not be either of the above. If you haven't noticed yet, I have (on purpose) made the page quite plain. I do not take myself very seriously, and I know that you all don't want to know every last thing that is going on in my life. I will touch on my life, and I will share my thoughts on things, however, I will try not to be overbearing with either. Let me know if I am. :)

For right now, I am going to share a few short things:

I forgot about an awesome webcomic that I used to read..thank God for Vivian and Phil reminding me about xkcd. Here is an example

I have been cutting up the tree in my back yard this weekend. The chain fell off my old saw, and instead of spending five minutes to put it back on, I bought a new chainsaw... I will take any excuse I can get for new tools!

My friend Shaun got married last week unexpectedly. He just got engaged a few weeks ago and eloped to Mexico to get married. If you read this, congrats Shaun!
